Andorran Prime Minister Antoni Marti has held talks with European Tax Commissioner
Algirdas Šemeta, with the discussions focusing on the adopted mandate of the
European Council of Ministers regarding negotiations with third countries on
extending the savings tax directive, to close loopholes.

British MPs Debate Corporation Tax and Multinationals
British MPs have expressed discontent at multinational companies' tax arrangements, in a debate in Parliament at which Exchequer Secretary David Gauke insisted that HMRC has "robust methods in place to ensure tax compliance," and that the UK has "led the way" in encouraging the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development to improve international law.

HMRC Aggressively Pursues VAT Debts
Newly released figures from the UK tax authority, HM Revenue and Customs, shows

US Withdraws GSP Benefits From Bangladesh
United States Trade Representative Michael Froman has announced the outcome
of the 2012 Annual Review under the Generalized System of Preferences program,
which has included a decision by President Barack Obama to suspend the eligibility

Barroso Talks US Trade Deal
Jose Manuel Barroso has said that both the European Union and the US "have a strong interest in successfully concluding" the planned Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, but warned that clarification is needed on issues that are causing "very serious concern at European level."
